What is a Christian?
A Christian is someone whose eyes have been opened by the Holy Spirit to see how marvelous, wonderful, awesome, delightful, majestic, and satisfying God is, and who delights in Jesus Christ, the eternal Creator God as a treasure that is more precious than every other treasure combined, including life itself.

When you see God in this way you will believe the truth about God* as revealed in the Bible and happily entrust yourself completely to the Lord Jesus Christ. This is called “faith.”

When you believe with this kind of faith, God takes all of your sin and evil and credits it to Jesus’ account (which is why Jesus had to die on the cross – to suffer the wrath of God for our sin). He also credits Jesus’ perfect, flawless, sinless righteousness to your account! At that moment God makes you a new person with a new heart that loves God, and you are “born again.”

People who have faith and who truly love God hate their sin. All who continue to love their sin and prefer the world over God do not love God, do not have true faith, and remain guilty of all their sins. They will suffer God’s wrath forever. If you love God you will hate anything that hinders your closeness with Him, and you will do all you can to rid your life of sin, because sin, even though it is forgiven, interrupts your intimacy with God.

God fulfilled what he had foretold through all the prophets, saying that his Messiah would suffer. Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord – Acts 3:18,19
